Sportshots > Kirsten Gallon  > Sports > Dallas Cowboys offseason training 2007
I was fortunate to be able to have done fitness work for the Dallas Cowboys a few years back. Joe Juraszek, the head strength and conditioning coach for the Cowboys, and I had worked together while we were both at Oklahoma University. He was also the head strength coach there and I also did fitness work for the team during that time. When he got the position with the Cowboys, he brought me in for some aerobic conditioning during the off-season to add a little variety to the workouts. Joe has been the head strength and conditioning coach for the team for over 10 years now. A testament to his great work ethic, coaching ability and desire to add innovative techniques to old school training for a perfect combination of workouts. He is an outstanding technician in the area of weight training and I attribute everything I know about weight training to his knowledge and guidance.
I was in Dallas recently to shoot a conference for CareFlite and I thought it might be a good opportunity to take some photos of the guys doing some off-season training while I was there. I thought it would be a way to show another side of football that most people don't get to see.
I would like to thank Joe and all the guys for letting me expose some of the behind the scenes, off-season training. Best wishes to all of you for a winning season. I'll be watching!!!

Kirsten Gallon > Jim Marten, another offensive lineman, gets a good stretch and shows great concentration on keeping focused down the line to the end of the pit.
Kirsten Gallon > Doug Free, another offensive lineman, with a long stride as he make his way through the sand pit drill.
Kirsten Gallon > As Joe changes to the heavier yellow ropes, the guys take a short break.
Kirsten Gallon > Joe Berger leads off the next part of the drill which is backwards jumps from one end to the other with the heavier yellow rope. The glutes, hamstrings and quads are pretty much screaming by the time they get from one end of the pit to the other. Assistant coach Tony Ollison follows at the other end of the rope.
Kirsten Gallon > Joe Berger, a guard, shows sheer determination to get to the end of this drill.
Kirsten Gallon > Cory Proctor in fine form during the backwards jump drill.
Kirsten Gallon > Pat McQuistan and Joe Juraszek.
